It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that Paddy Mowe, the
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
has completed its last lap.
We have exhausted our allocation of power units, and have lost our sponsorship for next season.
Had to replace the muffler a few weeks ago, and the exhausts bolts weren’t cooperating. I’ll let the rest of the photos speak for themselves.
(pours one out, places in mowerdeck museum)

JB weld to the rescue!

Real race lawn mowers don’t have mufflers. Stuff some steel wool in there and take another lap!

Noooooo!!!

Just swap the engine. Mowers basically have universal bolt patterns, so it’s super easy.
Fun fact, I’ve never bought a mower. Someone gave me a mower with a rotten deck, so I swap the good engine onto another deck. Since then I’ve replaced the handle twice, and I’m in need of a new deck for next season. But the engine starts on the first pull every time, even the first start of the season.

Open exhaust- it's a real race mower now!

If you don't replace the engine, either mount the deck in your garage or sell it to a fellow Oppo.

dont give up so easy, rotate over a few degrees and drill and tap new holes

It’s a $200 mower, and it’s nine years old. I replaced the deck two years ago ($100) and another engine just isn’t worth it.
I will be hanging this deck on the wall along side the
previous deck
.

It’s time for a turbo. Just use some zip ties or JB Weld or something to hold it on.

I thought about that, but I didn’t have that tap. That was the last straw. I wasn’t spending any more time on a nine year old, $200 mower.

I’ve had my push mower since February 2007. I’ve only changed the blade twice, one spark plug, added oil every once in a blue moon, and one wheel. Still running strong.
Of course it looks like absolute shit....

... holy crap, I take it you do auto body professionally?

No, but I have tape and spray cans.
One could also assume by the outcome of the bolt extraction, I am also not a professional mechanic.

I was going to suggest turning it into a static exhibit, but hanging the deck on the wall is almost as good.
It’ll be like those museums that have d o n e t h e s a m e w i t h the fibreglass shells of old sports-prototyp es and Le Mans GTs .
